Diet Cola with ice.
Lazy, mellow afternoons,
Saying you will start homework soon.

People going from lily pale to tan
Whilst you buy tickets to see a band.
Summer hits set the rave
And the sun glistens on the pave-

Ment-hol addictions cease.
Cinema releases magical beasts.
Water is suddenly fun again
And exam stress symptoms start to mend.

I was just the weird kid, with a cyber-attitude who’d never been kissed. I splattered words like ‘epic’ and ‘awesome’ when describing myself to make up for my low self-esteem. I honed in on other people’s problems, offering help and advice knowing it would get me nothing in return. I’d say giving was in my nature but it wasn’t, it made me feel important.
